For first-time visitors

You should first go to your local clinic or see a family doctor when you
have non-seriousillness or a minor injury.
Please ask your doctor to write a refferal letter and schedule your first
appointment.
Then you go to University of the Ryukyus Hospital with a referral letter
and you will not be charged extra fee.
If you come to the hospital without a referral letter, you will be charged
an extra fee of 7,700yen (determined by the Ministry of Health, Labour
and Welfare in Japan). Please note that whether or not you can be seen
without a referral letter depends on the department.
